The reason for the rules.
Number 24 is the reason why I made up the rule that I can't remove or throw away any of them. Once I put a number on the back and start, it must remain. So number 24 remains as is. It was an experiment I guess you could say, and it did not turn out the way I thought it was going to.

Thought
My thought for this project wasn't to original or anything I really just wanted to see where it would take me. Actually I was feeling everything but original when I thought that it would be a good idea. What I really want to see are the patterns in the drawings as well as what ideas I repeat. Also, I really like the challenge, and the way people look at me when I tell them what I'm working on.

Rules and Regulations
There are a couple of rules that I have for this project. One, the drawings can not be contained in a book or journal. Two, each drawing can not take more than 2 hours or less than 5 minutes. Three, the drawings must be finished once started, in other words if the drawing is bad I have to keep it. I can make it better (or worse for that matter), but once a piece of paper is devoted to the stack of 1000 it must remain. Four, any medium can be used. Five, Once I declared to my self that the piece is done and on the stack I can not go back.

The Start of a Thousand
Starting off with my latest self inflicted project, which is to draw a 1000 pictures in the least amount of time possible. I came up with the idea when I was looking around my studio full of paintings and drawings and decided I needed more, so why not a thousand more. I also needed something to aim for when it comes to my independent work. So I began working on May 12th 2010. Let the challenge begin.
